Hey there,
Welcome to my newsletter! 🌴🌊 Honestly, I haven’t completely worked out this newsletter’s overall content or look, so things around here might change every once in a while—but some things you’ll definitely find here are my writings about artmaking, journaling & cute stationery stuff, sometimes life, and, of course, pop culture. If you’re okay with all that, I hope you’ll stay :)
Why I started this newsletter
As a professional writer, I found that I needed a space where I could express my thoughts more loosely and personally outside of the kind of writing that I do for work, which is to say that I needed a space to just be me; a place where I could casually write and share my thoughts on the things that interest me without worrying too much about how my writing is perceived. In essence, I wanted a place where I could unwind and, perhaps, take respite from the chaos I often encounter in my work and life offline. The name of this newsletter comes from the knowledge that blue spaces—the sea, riverways, the great lakes, small creeks—are known to help our brains and disposition tremendously, having been shown to reduce stress and boost moods, among other benefits. 🌊
My previous endeavor
Before this newsletter, I ran another self-published political humor Substack called The P Word. I really enjoyed writing it, but I had to put that on pause because I needed a break from writing on current affairs. Please check it out and subscribe if you’d like to be the first to know when it comes back!
Thanks so much for being here and I hope we can connect 🌊💕
